PL: The crew of the research vessel, the Calico at one point rescue Godzooky,
PL: the young offspring of the mighty giant monster, Godzilla. Apparently,

PL: would help if they needed him.  As it turns out, this was a most
PL: fortuitous thing, because in the voyages of the Calico, they
PL: investigate mysteries that all too often lead to run-ins with dangerous
PL: giant beasts.  With no way to battle the beasts themselves, the crew,
PL: either through a special signaling device or Godzooky calling himself,
PL: can summon Godzilla seemingly from anywhere around the world to
PL: confront the menace at hand.

PL: to keep everyone in check with the huge storm and Linoge. Linoge keeps

PL: question him, and they find out he wants one of their children to take
PL: his place.  They now have a decision to make, and when it's done, can
PL: they live with that decision?

PL: The devil (Colm Feore) has come to the small town of Little Tall Island,
PL: Maine during the heaviest snow storm in the last 100 years. He brings
PL: with him the darkest secrets of all the townspeople and uses his
PL: knowledge to control and drive some of them to suicide and murder. But
PL: with every event, he leaves the clear message "Give me what I want and
PL: I'll go away." But first, he has to convince everyone that he has the
PL: power to destroy the village, if they don't comply. Eventually, he
PL: reveals that he is not immortal and is presently dying, although not in
PL: terms of human life spans. He seeks a child to be trained in his work
PL: and the village must willingly give the child. Tim Daly co-stars as the
PL: town sheriff, who is the only man strong enough to stand against the
PL: devil. In fact, the greatest dirt that the devil has on him is the fact
PL: that he once cheated on a college exam. The film also implies that a
PL: similar incident may have occurred in 1587 Roanoke, Virginia, when the
PL: entire village disappeared and only Croaton was left written on a tree
PL: as an indication of their fate.
